Begun by William the Conquerer in 1078, the Tower of London has served as a royal residence, fortress, mint and armoury. The fortress has over 900 years of British history to discover. The platinum crown of the late Queen Mother which holds the legendary Koh-I-Noor diamond is housed here as well as the gold armband in which Maharajah Ranjit Singh used to wear the diamond.
